John Bolton

So this morning I stumbled across a month-old Economist in the bathroom this morning, and I found myself reading about Bush's nomination for the UN, John Bolton.

After reading the article, I would be as excited to have Bolton as my UN representative as I would be to have Michael Jackson running my daycare center.

I don't really know who the audience of this blog is (besides really bored people with nothing better to do), but is there anyone out there who can explain to me why Bolton is a good choice for the UN? Preferably this response comes from a conservative who really believes what he/she is saying, but submissions from rational liberals who can see both sides are welcome.

And, if it's not too much trouble (though it always seems to be), just leave it as a comment.

Random Quoteness

Help me pick books...

Ok, so I am going to try something new. And, I fear it won't work. But I'm gonna try anyway:

I am going to Europe. And in my limited traveling experience, I found that I got a lot of reading done. So, my loyal (and usually quiet and unresponsive) readers. Please, if you read this, leave a comment with a suggested book for me to take.

Leaving a comment is easy. You don't need to register. You don't even need to sign your name if that scares you (though please do if you don't mind...). There's my plea. We'll see how it goes.

Since I Last Blogged...

(Well, not counting the posts from today...)
  • I've taken my last exam at UNC.
  • I've begun to move out of Chapel Hill (will be completed this week).
  • I finished my short stint as a graduate student (with a 4.0, I might add).
  • Carolina has picked up commitments from the top point guard and top shooting guard in the highschool class of 2006.
  • I got a job! (You'll have to talk to me if you want details).
  • The Pistons have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals.
  • I tasted (and drank way too much of) the tastiest Tequila ever (thanks to Jeff).
  • I completed my MBA (Masters of Beer Appreciation) at Brixx.
  • I watched every Star Wars Episode on DVD (and I'll have to see Episode III soon).

New Gizmo For All You PDAers

So, I think one problem that comes with blogging is when you get out of the habit of doing so, you stop. And then, when you feel like writing again, you feel obligated to come up with something really cool. And if you are lacking something really cool, you decide to wait. And then the bar is raised. Anyway, I've given up on coming up with anything truly interesting to bring you Leen's blog, and now a damn cool piece of technology:
For all your PDA-aholics, this thing looks pretty cool. It projects a keyboard onto any flat surface, and then sends what you type to your PDA. Pretty sweet.

Welcome a new blogger...

Check out Kathleen's blog. Though, as Erti just pointed out, since there is no content on the blog, "it doesn't really achieve blog status". Anyway, Leen has promised content soon...
